TO WITNESS AND PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL

As Christians, we are all called to priestly and prophetic mission to share and proclaim the Gospel. We hope to share with others the good works of God in our lives and strive towards holiness through Mary and the Dominican Spirituality.

Composed by: Br. Pio Benedict, O.P.

Darkness settles over the valley.
Blackness blankets the land.
Rocks and soil are covered in a veil of despair.  Grass and trees lie fallow.  Birds and animals are silent.  Life ceases as we know it.  Quiet, silence, emptiness ensue.  The end has come; sadness envelops all.

Three days of mourning, sadness and tears, despair and hopelessness.  The emptiness engulfs everything.  All hope has vanished.  Goodness lies dormant.  All hope has vanished, the Word forgotten. What will become of us?  Where has our faith gone?

Brilliant light erupts from the depths, illuminating the darkness.  The power of God explodes into the world.  Darkness fades in an instant, warmth envelops all.  The Son of God, in all His splendor and glory, has risen.  Death is defeated.  The Word has been fulfilled.  For our sins, He has suffered, died and risen.  All glory to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit!

Remember this in those bleak, depressing days that come upon all of us.  Do not be afraid.  No matter how bad things may be, it's only temporary.   The light will soon fill your soul.  Believe!!!  The Son of God has died for you so you may live.  Have faith and believe.  Turn it over to Him.  His love for you is forever.  In the words of St. Padre Pio, "pray, hope and don't worry."
