TO WITNESS AND PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL

As Christians, we are all called to priestly and prophetic mission to share and proclaim the Gospel. We hope to share with others the good works of God in our lives and strive towards holiness through Mary and the Dominican Spirituality.

Today, while listening to a radio broadcast, I was reminded of some horrible information:  the huge number of Christians who were martyred last year for refusing to give up their faith.  Souls who stood up for their beliefs having their earthly bodies butchered. Innocent lives destroyed because of their belief in our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Then add to this the huge number of innocent babies murdered in their mother’s womb by so-called doctors who believe that the fetus is not a human being.  I guess in nine months a vegetable is delivered.   Where is the outrage?  Does no one care?  Hell, go out and protest in the streets and airports because non Americans are not being allowed into our country until they are vetted and deemed safe, but do nothing and say nothing about the innocent Christians who are beheaded and slaughtered just because of their beliefs in Jesus, or the poor, unborn babies who have no one to stand up for their rights, no one to fight for their right to exist.  Does anyone else see an issue with this?  Remember the words of St. Luke as written in his Gospel 1:68-79, “Through His holy prophets He promised of old that He would save us from our enemies, from the hands of all who hate us….  This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham:  to set us free from the hands of our enemies, free to worship Him without fear, holy and righteous in His sight all the days of our life.” Or Deuteronomy 30:20, “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse.  So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants.”  It is time to take a stand.  Stand up against this outrage.  Our so called media covers these protests, covers students burning their buildings, covers politicians purposely not attending committee meetings, breaking their oath to represent their people.  How many people are standing in a crowd for the inauguration but they neglect and relinquish their duty to talk of the innocents who have lost their lives violently over their faith or because they are considered not yet human.  Fellow Christians, stand tall, voice your opinion, and defend our faith.  As Ephesians 5:11 states, “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.”
